◆ Kageyama Reiya (影山 黎也)

The protagonist of this work. A second-year high school student attending Shuei Private High School. An acknowledged Dark Attribute gloomy type by himself and others, and a serious game otaku. Works part-time at the Western-style restaurant run by his maternal cousin, Mizumori Ichiru, but spends most of his earnings on games and related devices. His pride is his gaming PC, built with a considerable amount of funds for a high school student, capable of lasting five years. An omnivorous gamer who plays all genres, particularly fond of titles that require careful thought and planning. Resembles his mother, who shares the same lineage as his cousin Ichiru, and would look reasonably well-groomed if he took care of his appearance, but he has absolutely no interest in such things.

The heroine of this work. A second-year high school student attending Shuei Private High School. A perfect, beautiful girl with the Light Attribute, excelling in looks, academics, and athletics. Characterized by large, round eyes and a medium-short hairstyle that gives a lively impression. Has a cheerful and innocent personality without any unpleasantness, possessing a natural charm that allows even actions that might normally seem calculating to be forgiven. Outside of school, she is active as a promising tennis player with a bright future, having won the U-16 category of the All Japan Junior Championships. Furthermore, she also works as a model for a teen magazine, and her total followers across various social media platforms exceed 100,000. In her time off, she has a dependent and clingy nature. She used to be an acknowledged daddy’s girl, but graduated from it upon entering middle school when her father’s overseas business trips increased. Since then, she started playing games recommended by her older brother to distract herself from loneliness and got hooked. Her tennis playstyle is an aggressive baseliner whose weapon is a powerful forehand. Her moody nature tends to show in her play; when she’s on form, she’s untouchable, but when she’s off, she loses easily.

Hikaru’s older brother, currently a sophomore in the Science I Faculty at Toutei University. Like his sister, he seems like a perfect superhuman excelling in looks, academics, and athletics… but is somewhat off-kilter. During high school, he did whatever he wanted, such as taking over the history research club and turning it into a board game club, swapping out the components of the information processing room’s computers to turn them into gaming PCs, and selling mock exam question sets he created using past papers collected from seniors and alumni. Girls who approached him based solely on his looks were put off by his eccentricity and all fled, so he has never dated anyone. While attending university, he also serves as the representative of the independent game development studio ‘Yggdrasil Games’. His position in game development is Producer 겸 Director 겸 In Charge of Everything Under the Sun. He can handle everything from programming to graphics and music more than competently by himself. Since falling for Ichiru at first sight, he began frequenting her restaurant, but there has been no particular progress. He shows surprising signs of being a siscon, such as recommending games to Hikaru when she seemed lonely after growing distant from her father.

Reiya’s cousin and the owner of the Western-style restaurant ‘Mizumoritei’. A beautiful woman with a perpetually absentminded and gentle demeanor, possessing chest-length long hair and large breasts that inevitably draw men’s eyes. Although she is Reiya’s cousin, she was entrusted with looking after him by his parents who are away on business, and thinks of him like her own younger brother. Her cooking skills are excellent, but she is somewhat clumsy in other areas and often breaks dishes. She often runs the restaurant alone when Reiya isn’t working, but manages somehow as the customer base mainly consists of regulars who stay for a long time. Many of the male regulars try hard to woo her, but none have achieved significant success so far. Her recent worry is that she’s starting to put on a little weight due to lack of exercise.

A second-year student attending Shuei High like Reiya, and a fellow gloomy type friend. At first glance, he looks like a flashy popular type, but he gets extremely nervous in front of large crowds, which leads to his poor social skills. Attended the same elementary school as Hikaru and Ayaka.

A second-year student attending Shuei High like Reiya, and a fellow gloomy type friend. His small and slightly chubby physique is surprisingly popular with girls, who find him cute. His family runs a temple.

The class representative of Shuei High Year 2, Class B. Characterized by long black hair and glasses. Has a considerably strong will and an unbending personality, often clashing with female classmates. She has been best friends with Hikaru since elementary school; their dissimilarities complement each other’s shortcomings perfectly. Excels academically, always ranking first in the grade and achieving high scores on national mock exams. On the other hand, she is extremely poor at sports; she once tried learning tennis from Hikaru, but it ended in disastrous results. Hikaru’s parents have entrusted her with being a guardian for Hikaru, who has some slightly reckless aspects, and she herself cares deeply for her friend.
